Kings College Taunton is seeking a Chef de Partie to join Sodexo Group in a high-volume school catering environment. You will cook and plate high-quality meals for around 1,000 meals per day on a 5 days out of 7 pattern, with shifts from 6.15am–2.15pm or 11.45am–7.45pm, at Kings College Taunton.

The role requires strong kitchen skills, a minimum of 1 year in a similar role, and an Enhanced DBS check. Salary is £14.00 per hour with full training and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role.
• Experience in school or contract catering is advantageous.
• Enhanced DBS check will be completed for this role.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with confidence managing your section during high-volume service.
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high cleanliness and food safety standards.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes, ensuring meals are served at the correct temperature.
• Support the Head Chef and team with daily food preparation during busy service.
• Receive deliveries, store ingredients correctly and rotate stock (FIFO).
• Maintain hygiene, cleanliness and food safety in line with policies and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with the team to create a positive kitchen environment for staff and students.
• Assist with school events and functions, possibly outside normal hours.
• Provide friendly, professional service to students, staff and visitors.
• Follow portion control and sustainable catering practices.
• Contribute ideas for menu improvements and service enhancements.
