Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join the Springwood Corner Care Home in Gravesend. You will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef, leading a culinary team to provide nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals that contribute to residents’ wellbeing.

You will participate in meetings with residents and departments, prepare nutritious dishes, manage stock to minimise waste, and help develop menus. A DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Have a minimum of 1-year catering experience.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents.
• Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team delivering nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals.
• Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss catering functions and dietary needs.
• Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard as directed by the Head Chef.
• Assist with cost-effective stock control to minimise waste and ensure systems are in place.
• Work with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu regularly.
