Job summary

Sterling Cross Ltd in Maidstone is recruiting an experienced CDP/Chef for a busy hotel kitchen. Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll help maintain consistently high food quality, service, hygiene and kitchen performance.

This hands-on role requires leadership, a calm approach under pressure and a passion for great food. Shift patterns typically 13:00–22:00 over five days with occasional breakfast shifts; driving is essential, and you’ll enjoy 28 days’ holiday, free meals on duty, hotel

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience as a Chef in a professional kitchen.
• Experience in branded hotel or high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene.

Are you a passionate CDP looking for your next opportunity in a busy, professional kitchen?

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chef/experienced CDP to join a friendly and hardworking kitchen team at a well-established hotel in the Maidstone area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who enjoys being hands-on, leading by example and helping to create a positive kitchen environment.

Due to location applicants will need to be able to drive.

About the role

Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to ensure consistently high standards of food quality, service, hygiene and kitchen performance.

You’ll be responsible for supporting the wider kitchen brigade while taking an active role. We’re looking for someone who is confident working as a team, remains calm under pressure and takes pride in delivering excellent food.

Shift patterns will be across 5 days and will be for the majority be a 13:00/14:00-22:00 with the odd breakfast shift on offer in line with business needs.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced Chef who enjoys being actively involved in the kitchen and leading from the front.

Ideally, you will have:

• At least 2 years' experience working in a professional environment as a Chef
• Experience within a branded hotel, restaurant or similar high-volume environment
• City & Guilds 7061/2 and/or NVQ Level 3 (desirable)
• Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure
• A genuine passion for food and high standards
• The confidence to lead, support and motivate a kitchen team
• A flexible and positive approach to working in a busy kitchen
• A strong team-player mentality combined with good leadership skills
