Job summary

Springwood Corner Care Home, operated by Avery Healthcare Group, in Gravesend, seeks a Chef de Partie to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals for residents.

You will help with menu development, stock control, and catering to special dietary needs while ensuring cost-effective operations. A catering qualification and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate, plus at least one year of catering experience, are required.

• Catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, NVQ or equivalent
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Minimum of one year's catering experience

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team providing a nutritionally balanced, high-quality service
• Meet residents and Heads of Department to agree catering functions and address special needs or dietary requirements
• Prepare nutritious food and beverages to a high standard as directed by the Head Chef
• Support cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste
• Work with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and regularly review the menu

Job description

This Chef de Partie post sits in the kitchen at Springwood Corner Care Home, a residential home run by Avery Healthcare Group. The chef supports the Head Chef and Sous Chef to run a kitchen serving balanced, high-quality meals that contribute to residents' wellbeing, including special and dietary needs. Set in an older people's care home, the role also covers menu development and stock control. Candidates need a catering qualification, a food hygiene certificate and at least a year of catering experience.
