Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers seeks a Chartered Structural Engineer to lead a diverse project portfolio from design through to completion. You will manage graduates, liaise with clients and contractors, and oversee multi-disciplinary coordination to deliver quality outcomes on time and within budget.

The role requires chartered status, a BEng in Structural or Civil Engineering, and at least five years' post-graduate experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Office tools.

Qualifications

• Chartered Structural Engineer status required.
• BEng in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum five years' post-graduate experience in a similar environment.
• Proven design experience across common building materials to current codes.
• Competent structural assessment of existing buildings.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Full current driving licence or equivalent access to transport.

Responsibilities

• Lead from design through to completion with autonomy.
• Manage graduate engineers and technicians; primary client contact.
• Coordinate project teams and resources; ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure quality assurance.
• Identify and mitigate risks; forecast fees and project invoicing.
• Mentor graduates and junior engineers; contribute to business development.
