American Society of Civil Engineers in Shoreditch, London, is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer / Structural Engineer to begin a career in structural engineering with hands-on design experience alongside senior engineers.

You will train and be mentored as you progress, with responsibilities increasing over time and exposure to diverse projects from refurbishments to bespoke new-build schemes.

Qualifications

• A Civil Engineering degree from the UK or equivalent.
• An interest in structural engineering and design.
• An understanding of Eurocodes and their application in the UK.
• An understanding of designing from first principles.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with structural design and calculations.
• Developing structural schemes and solutions.
• Working on residential refurbishment and bespoke new-build projects.
• Designing structural elements from first principles.
• Coordinating designs with architects and clients.
• Preparing designs and technical information for drawings.
• Producing calculation packages.
• Attending site visits.
• Discussing design changes and ideas with the engineering team.
• Managing your workload and reporting on project progress.
