Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers, based in Leeds, is seeking a Principal / Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil and structural design across diverse projects including education, offices, residential and industrial sectors. The role emphasizes delivering compliant designs and fostering client relationships.

You will mentor junior engineers, oversee drawings and calculations, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; MSc preferred.
• Approximately 10 years in civil and structural engineering delivering complex projects.
• Chartered status or working towards chartered (CEng, MIStructE, MICE).
• Around 7+ years in relevant UK experience with similar consultancies.
• Experience with industry software for structural analysis and design.
• UK driving licence and own vehicle for site visits, some remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and ensure compliance with UK regulations for civil/structural projects.
• Oversee production of drawings, calculations and specifications.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop integrated design solutions.
• Mentor less experienced engineers.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
