Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Chartered Geotechnical Engineer based in Edinburgh or Glasgow to lead project teams across UK and international projects. You will mentor junior engineers and drive technical leadership in a Design and Build environment, expanding capabilities in infrastructure and energy geotechnics.

You should hold a degree in civil engineering or geology with a geotechnical postgraduate qualification and Chartered status. Strong client liaison and business development skills are essential.

Qualifications

• A good academic background with a degree (ideally MSc or equivalent).
• Chartered status, Proven experience of working in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
• Project management: experience with client relationships, work planning and commercial management.
• Proven geotechnical design experience and numerical/analytical capabilities (structures, foundations, slopes, anchors).
• Digital geotechnical engineering capability including AI/ML in geotechnical design.
• CDM Regulations in design and ground investigation environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills for leading geotechnical design teams.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and support work winning.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and project management for geotechnical projects.
• Mentor junior geotechnical engineers and foster knowledge sharing.
• Lead design and build geotechnical activities across infrastructure and energy sectors.
