Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK is seeking a Chartered/Senior Geotechnical Engineer for Edinburgh or Glasgow offices to lead a portfolio of geotechnical projects across the UK and internationally. You will mentor junior engineers, manage projects, and apply geotechnical design expertise using GeoStudio, Repute and Wallap, with emphasis on AI applications.

A degree in civil engineering or geology with MSc in geotechnical subjects, chartered status, and a UK driving license are required.

Qualifications

• A MSc or equivalent in geotechnical subjects and chartered status as a civil engineer or geologist.
• Experience in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
• Strong project management, client relationship and work-planning skills.
• Proven geotechnical design experience and numerical/analytical capabilities for foundations, slopes and anchors.
• Experience with GeoStudio, Repute and Wallap and digital geotechnical engineering incl. AI.
• Familiarity with CDM Regulations in design and ground investigation environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical communication skills; ability to lead design teams.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas; valid UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor geotechnical design teams across projects.
• Manage client relationships and project delivery from inception to completion.
• Apply numerical/analytical approaches to foundations, slopes and anchors.
• Collaborate with design teams, ensure quality and timely delivery.
