Job summary

Cancer Research UK is seeking a motivated Shop Manager for our Grantham store to lead a busy team and drive fundraising through retail. You’ll manage staff and volunteers, ensure strong customer service, and maximise store performance while upholding brand standards.

You'll recruit and develop the team, organise merchandising and community outreach, and deliver ambitious sales and fundraising targets in a supportive environment with a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience of leading a diverse team of paid staff and volunteers.
• Ability to work toward targets and motivate others to achieve them.
• Capability to multi-task in a busy shop environment.
• Strong customer service focus and problem-solving skills.
• Commercial awareness with knowledge of high street fashion retail.

Responsibilities

• Guide, inspire and engage a team of staff and volunteers, including recruitment and development.
• Own the commercial running of the store: display, merchandising, stock management, shop standards, layout, sales and income.
• Lead by example with excellent customer and supporter service.
• Maximise profit through cost control and sales.
• Build relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
• Organise and run fundraising events to hit targets.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, admin and HR policies.
