Job Purpose

To provide professional clinical nursing care to residents, demonstrate strong leadership, adhere to NMC standards, and support the Home Manager in daily operations.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Promote high standards of clinical care
  2. Ensure a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors
  3. Appraise and counsel staff as needed, following procedures
  4. In the absence of the Home Manager, oversee operations and delegate tasks
  5. Maintain a positive company image
  6. Accurately document care records and plans
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Qualified nurse with experience in elderly care settings
  • Experience supporting residents with dementia
  • Ideal for those with Charge Nurse or Unit Manager experience seeking growth or experienced nurses aiming for a leadership role
  • Strong time management and workload prioritization skills
  • Ability to advise and guide staff, residents, and families sensitively
  • Effective problem-solving skills in a nursing home context
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing and care planning
  • Desirable: post-registration qualification, knowledge of employment law and care legislation
