Position

An opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Charge Nurse at Foxgrove, Ayrshire Central Hospital.

What You Will Do

NHS Ayrshire and Arran were successful in the bid to host the National Secure Adolescent Inpatient services for young people aged between 12 and their 18th birthday who present a level of risk and we are now moving towards the finalisation of the build and the clinical model with the expectation that the service will be accepting the first young people into the service.

We are excited to announce that we are now inviting forward thinking, motivated nurses RMN (Registered Mental Health) and RLDN (Registered Learning Disability Nurses) who have an understanding of Child and Adolescent Mental Health and/or Forensic Mental health with relevant experience.

You will be based atFoxgrove National Secure Adolescent Inpatient Service within Ayrshire Central Hospital and willjoin and work alongside the Service Manager and clinical team to assist in completion of the final development of pathways and processes, participate in the recruitment process of junior staff, whilst having the opportunity to build the culture and ethos of the service prior to its opening in 2025

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required To Do The Job

  • First Level Registered Nurse (RMN part 3) of register or Registered Learning Disability Nurse.
  • Relevant experience at Band 5 or above in either CAMHS or Forensics.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development, preferably degree level relevant to this post.
  • Knowledge of CAMHS and/or Forensic issues and associated management considerations.
  • Highly developed clinical skills and knowledge base with regard to clinical issues and mental health legislation

Hours: 37 per week
