Job summary

ABM UK is seeking a vigilant part-time Security and Facilities Assistant in Wallsend. You will patrol and monitor busy shopping centre premises, perform cleaning and housekeeping duties, and assist with daily operations under supervision.

Role requires SIA and CCTV licences; you'll work 32 hours per week on a rota starting from early shifts, ensuring health, safety and security standards are met. Competitive pay and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• SIA Door Supervisor Licence is required.
• CCTV Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning within the Centre according to PPM schedules.
• Manage recycling and waste to keep the Centre clean and safe.
• Maintain welfare facilities in good condition.
• Coordinate with colleagues to ensure smooth Centre operations.
• Clean car parks and manage bin liners.
• Inspect site streets, car parks and back-of-house areas daily.
• Perform Health & Safety checks as directed by Facilities/Centre managers.
• Deliver health and safety communications per centre specs.
• Prevent disturbances and secure doors and restricted areas.
• Report incidents and write daily activity reports; attend tribunals if needed.
• Oversee CCTV, Bodycams and radio feeds for security monitoring.
• Address anti-social behaviour and escort individuals as required.
• Respond to emergencies; coordinate with emergency services.
• Ensure contractors have valid permits before works.
• Handle reception duties: calls, messages, logging visitors.
• Test fire alarm systems and respond to activations promptly.
• Manage spills and litter in mall and common areas.
• Adhere to health, safety and security guidelines; work safely.
• Undertake other duties within the Centre as required.
