Job summary

Sandwell Council’s Bereavement Services team seeks a conscientious individual to support burial and cremation services at one of its crematoria or cemeteries. You will prioritise compassion and customer service, liaising with bereaved families and maintaining records and grounds to a high standard.

Working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis, you will operate required machinery with a provisional licence, and participate in a wider team committed to respectful, dignified services for

Qualifications

• The candidate should have a vocational qualification or equivalent in English and Maths and apply these skills to operational delivery of Registration Services.
• A provisional licence is required to operate the machinery used in the role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver burial and/or cremation services and related tasks.
• Maintain grounds to a high standard and liaise with bereaved families.
• Operate large plant and machinery with a provisional licence.
• Keep records and ensure security of council assets.
• Deputise for the Senior Registration Technician when needed.
• Regularly utilise ICT applications.
