Job summary

Brandon James, a respected multidisciplinary construction and property consultancy, is seeking a CDM Principal Designer to join their Health & Safety team in Bristol. The role involves leading design risk management, coordinating with design teams, and delivering Principal Designer duties across varied projects from refurbishment to high-profile developments.

The successful candidate will hold a NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent), be an APS and/or IOSH member, have 3+ years in

Responsibilities

• Acting as Principal Designer under CDM 2015
• Planning, managing and monitoring the pre-construction phase
• Assisting clients with the preparation of Pre-Construction Information
• Reviewing drawings and design information for foreseeable Health & Safety risks
• Coordinating with Architects, Engineers and other Designers
• Chairing and attending design risk meetings
• Producing and maintaining design risk registers
• Reviewing contractor documentation
• Undertaking site inspections and Health & Safety audits
• Preparing and reviewing Health & Safety Files
• Supporting clients and designers in meeting their duties under CDM 2015

Education

NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent

APS and/or IOSH membership

3+ years' CDM/ construction Health & Safety experience

Experience delivering Principal Designer duties

Relevant construction, design, surveying or Health & Safety qualification

Strong knowledge of CDM 2015

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Full UK driving licence
