Job summary

CIS Security Ltd is seeking a CCTV Controller to manage shift-based CCTV monitoring, ensuring security, safety and customer care standards across Meadowhall properties. The role is largely control-room based with some on-foot patrols internal and external.

Key duties include incident assessment, diary/handover updates, and collaboration with supervisors. Requires SIA CCTV Licence, strong communication and multi-tasking abilities, and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

Job description

The CCTV Controller is responsible for controlling the shift operational requirements in line with the customer and contractual expectations. The CCTV Controller plays an integral role in ensuring that consistently high standards of security, safety and customer care are always delivered.

• Comply with and enforce all company rules, regulations and procedures, department procedures, health and safety policies and to be compliant with Data protection.
• To assist with the movement of traffic, assist with organising and controlling the parking of vehicles whilst on Meadowhall property.
• Effectively and efficiently cover the shopping malls, car parks, roadways, coach parks and service areas within Meadowhall by the use of CCTV.
• Additional areas of responsibility to be monitored are all overspill car parks and Surrounding lands.
• To have knowledge of all departmental procedures and be able to assist in implementing these.
• To update the Supervisors and Control Room Assistants regularly by use of the diary, message book and electronic handover sheet.
• Support the Control Room Supervisor and Control Room Officer with the monitoring of equipment such as fire panels, BMS, CCTV, intruder alarms and ANPR.
• Demonstrate a full working knowledge of all relevant sections of the law and give guidance.
• Should be able to assess, measure and close incidents once all action has been taken.
• Assist in the upkeep and day to day cleanliness of the Operations Room including all equipment and accessories
• Must retain the strictest confidence when dealing with sensitive issues.
• Work to the specific direction of the Control Room Supervisor and exercise their delegated authority.

The role is largely based in the Control Room. However, you will also be required to patrol the internal and external areas as is necessary. The role will largely involve the use of IT, with little exposure to machinery, vehicles or chemicals. The role is predominantly office-based and therefore sedentary. The post holder will however be required to traverse internal and external areas.

The CCTV Controller will develop and lead operational excellence and best practice; optimising our service and value offering to customers to achieve performance targets. You will bring innovation and leadership and ensure a high-performance culture within your remit. This is an active and visible role requiring strong leadership competence in addition to entrepreneurial ability, customer interaction is significant and excellent relationship management skills are required.

• SIA CCTV Licence required.
• SIA Licence (DS or SG) required.
• CCTV security experience required.
• Excellent PC skills and Microsoft knowledge required.
• Experience of working in a demanding, high-pressure environment
• Excellent understanding of access control & CCTV systems
• Customer focused, with a strong knowledge of customer service skills.
• Demonstrate a strong aptitude for multi-tasking.

• Ability to think and act quickly in emergency incidents or under pressure.
