Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a proactive CCTV Controller to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Control Room at SouthGate Bath Shopping Centre. You will monitor CCTV, coordinate security resources, manage incidents and maintain accurate records.

Reporting to the Security Manager, you will communicate clearly with security officers, retailers, emergency services and centre management, follow incident procedures, and ensure a safe environment for visitors, staff and tenants.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK.
• SIA CCTV/Door Supervisor license is required.
• ACT Awareness and SCaN for CCTV Operators preferred.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure clear, accurate communication and transmission of information.
• Follow escalation process for incidents and maintain incident logs.
• Deploy security resources to handle incidents.
• Proactively operate CCTV, conduct daily risk assessments, maintain records.
• Operate fire alarm, PA, VMS, intruder/panic alarms, BMS, ANPR, radio and phones.
• Implement emergency procedures per the Incident and Emergency Plan.
• Document complaints and incidents thoroughly and accurately.

About The Role:

4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off

We are looking for a proactive and professional CCTV Controller to oversee the day-to-day operation of our Control Room at SouthGate Bath Shopping Centre. This role is responsible for monitoring CCTV systems, coordinating security resources, managing incidents, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the wider security team. The successful candidate will be calm under pressure, confident making operational decisions, and able to communicate effectively with security officers, retailers, emergency services and centre management. The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to follow incident management procedures while maintaining a safe and secure environment for our visitors, retailers and staff. As a CCTV Controller, you will be responsible for the proactive operation of the CCTV system and other security systems to ensure the safety and security of the site. Reporting to the Security Manager, you will ensure clear and accurate communication, proper incident escalation, and thorough documentation of all activities.

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure clear, accurate communication and transmission of all relevant information
• Follow the correct escalation process for incidents, maintaining running logs in the Operators running logs
• Effectively deploy security resources to handle all incidents and matters arising
• Proactively operate the CCTV system, conducting daily site activity risk assessments and maintaining accurate CCTV records
• Operate the fire alarm system, PA system, VMS, Intruder/Panic Alarms, BMS, ANPR, radio, and phone systems
• Implement emergency procedures in accordance with the Incident and Emergency Plan
• Thoroughly, accurately, and professionally document complaints, incidents involving possible criminal activity, and other daily activities
