Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd in Sunderland is seeking a General Assistant for a busy, full-time catering operation. You will support serving customers, restock, and maintain high standards across service areas in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasises food hygiene, safety, and great teamwork. A Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification and English proficiency are required, with occasional evening/weekend duties for events.

Qualifications

• Hold a level 2 food Hygiene qualification.
• Good spoken English understood.
• Good written English and reading skills.
• Experience in customer or food prep environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, cleaning.
• Prepare service areas for daily business.
• Set up, serve, clear, clean and store food, beverages or equipment for functions.
• Prepare basic food for sale following hygiene practices.
• Restock stocks and consumables during service to meet demand.
• Remove rubbish and recycle as required.
• Occasionally work evenings and weekends for functions or events.
• Ensure food standards and wastage controls are followed.
• Follow Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen procedures.
