Job summary

Compass Group UK&I, Chartwells, is seeking an experienced Catering Supervisor to oversee catering and service operations across Chartwells sites. The role is part-time, contracted to 22.5 hours per week and 43.8 weeks per year, with a focus on delivering exceptional food and guest service.

You will lead kitchen and counter teams, ensure high standards, and support health and safety compliance while representing the Compass/Chartwells brand to pupils and staff in the education sector.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years catering experience required.
• Hold a Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ambitious and motivated with leadership potential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food to high standards and supervise catering teams.
• Oversee operations to ensure smooth kitchen and service counters.
• Monitor KPIs and report to line manager regularly.
• Represent Compass Group UK&I and maintain brand image.
• Coordinate between customers and culinary/service teams to exceed expectations.
• Train and develop team members, leading from the front.
• Implement and review Health & Safety standards across teams.
