Job summary

Thomas Franks is seeking an experienced Chef Manager to lead the catering team at our Birmingham site, delivering high-quality food service for pupils, staff and visitors. The role works Monday to Friday during term-time, 46 weeks per year, and collaborates with the operations manager to maintain standards and budget.

You will manage day-to-day operations, ensure food safety, and drive guest satisfaction while developing menus in line with client expectations and market trends.

Qualifications

• Recognised cooking qualification (City & Guild 706/1 & 2 or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing catering teams.
• Experience with budget planning and P&L control.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the catering team in daily production and service across the site.
• Deliver client and company budgets for the location.
• Develop and improve dining and hospitality facilities on site.
• Prepare monthly and annual Profit & Loss reports for the operation.
• Manage day-to-day catering operations year-round with standards accountability.
• Motivate staff and drive standards through effective leadership.
