Catering, Cleaning & Recycling Coordinator

Description

Reporting to the Catering, Cleaning & Recycling (CCR) Manager, the Coordinator will provide operational and administrative support for the planning and delivery of catering, cleaning, waste management, and recycling services across Games venues.

This role will assist in implementing venue-level service plans, supporting supplier coordination, and monitoring delivery performance to ensure operations meet Games-time standards and sustainability objectives.

The Coordinator will play a key part in ensuring catering and cleaning services run smoothly for athletes, workforce, and spectators while contributing to Glasgow 2026’s wider operational and environmental commitments.

The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, with experience coordinating logistics or operations in large-scale events or fast-paced environments.

Working arrangements

The role will commence in the Organising Company’s Glasgow city centre office, with visits required to competition venues to fully deliver the responsibilities of the role. The location for the role will transition to be based at a competition venue as we approach the Games.

The role will be contracted for 40 hours per week, with requirements to be in the office aligned to the Organising Company's planned working pattern. All travel to your place of work will be at your own cost. During the Games operational period, shift patterns are likely to be required which could include weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the CCR team in planning and delivering venue catering, cleaning, and recycling operations.
  • Assist in preparing venue service plans, schedules, and documentation for catering and cleaning operations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to confirm delivery timings, staffing levels, access passes and equipment requirements
  • Support venue catering logistics, including equipment setup, food distribution, waste removal, and compliance reporting.
  • Help monitor daily operations during Games-time, identifying and escalating service or compliance issues promptly.
  • Support Games-time venue reporting, assist in overseeing workforce feeding operations, and conduct catering, cleaning, and recycling audits to ensure compliance and service consistency.
  • Collect and track information on waste segregation, recycling performance, and sustainability metrics.
  • Assist in implementing food safety, hygiene, and environmental standards as directed by the CCR Manager.
  • Represent the CCR team in pre-Games and Games-time meetings.
  • Communicate operational updates to venue teams, ensuring catering and cleaning activities align with competition schedules.
  • Contribute to Games-time service delivery by supporting the CCR team on-site, ensuring supplier coordination and service quality.
  • Support post-Games decommissioning and capture of operational learnings.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Experience

  • Experience coordinating catering, waste, or cleaning operations in large-scale events, venues, or hospitality environments.
  • Understanding of catering and cleaning logistics, including service delivery, stock control, or food safety processes.
  • Experience supporting supplier or contractor relationships in a fast-paced operational setting.
  • Familiarity with sustainability or waste management practices is desirable.
  • Experience maintaining operational records, reports, or checklists to support service delivery.
  • Comfortable working across multiple venues and shifts during a live event environment.
