Job summary

Anchor Hanover Group’s Gills Top Skipton site is seeking a Catering Assistant to support meal preparation and service for residents in a caring, supportive environment.

You will help maintain high hygiene standards, minimise waste, and work closely with the catering team to ensure smooth daily operations. Previous catering experience and a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate are preferred, with a willingness to obtain the certificate if needed.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate required or willingness to obtain one.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Experience working with older people is ideal but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and service of nutritious, well-presented meals.
• Ensuring all health, safety, and hygiene standards are followed to the highest level.
• Helping minimise waste and using kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Supporting the catering team and communicating any issues promptly.
