Job summary

Anchor Hanover Group is seeking a Catering Assistant at Mayflower Court Southampton to help prepare and serve nutritious, well-presented meals for residents. You will contribute to a warm, caring kitchen that supports daily wellbeing through attention to detail and teamwork.

Joining a supportive team, you’ll follow food safety, hygiene and COSHH guidelines while helping reduce waste and maintain equipment. Previous catering experience and a can-do attitude are valued.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Experience working with older people (ideal but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and service of nutritious, well-presented meals.
• Ensuring all health, safety, and hygiene standards are followed to the highest level.
• Helping minimise waste and using kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Supporting the catering team and communicating any issues promptly.
