Job summary

Anchor Hanover Group’s Heyberry House Wirral is seeking a Catering Assistant to help prepare and serve nutritious meals in a caring, resident-focused environment.

The role emphasises health and safety, waste reduction, and teamwork, with a requirement for Level 2 Food Safety or willingness to obtain it. Prior catering experience and comfort with caring for older people are preferred.”

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Experience working with older people (ideal, but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and service of nutritious, well-presented meals.
• Ensuring all health, safety, and hygiene standards are followed to the highest level.
• Helping minimise waste and using kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Supporting the catering team and communicating any issues promptly.
