Job summary

Anchor Hanover Group is hiring a Catering Assistant for a 09:30–17:30 shift, joining a supportive team that serves nutritious meals to residents. You will help with preparation and service while maintaining high health, safety and hygiene standards in a kitchen environment.

The role emphasises careful waste minimisation and safe operation of equipment, plus teamwork and clear communication to resolve issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Experience working with older people (ideal, but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and service of nutritious, well-presented meals.
• Ensuring all health, safety, and hygiene standards are followed to the highest level.
• Helping minimise waste and using kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Supporting the catering team and communicating any issues promptly.
