Job summary

Exemplar Health Care, Ribble View in Preston, is seeking a Catering Assistant to help the Chef prepare meals for residents, set dining tables and maintain cleaning standards in the kitchen.

You will play a key role in delivering nourishing meals to people with varying dietary needs, while adhering to hygiene rules and working as part of a supportive catering team. Training and induction are provided, with opportunities for progression within the company.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or food service is welcome but not essential.
• Good personal hygiene and food safety awareness.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation.
• Keep the kitchen clean and tidy, including washing up, cleaning freezers and mopping floors.
• Clean and sanitise all tableware.
• Understand residents' needs to help the Chef develop suitable menus.
• Interact with residents to obtain feedback on meals.
• Comply with food hygiene standards.
• Be a great team player within the Catering Team.
