A leading charity providing end-of-life care in Newcastle is recruiting part-time Catering Assistants. You will support daily catering services, maintain high food hygiene standards, and prepare meals under the direction of the Head Chef. Candidates should have knowledge of food hygiene regulations, the ability to work in a team, and experience in a culinary setting. Compensation: GBP 24,465 per annum.

Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end‑of‑life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness they’re likely to die from.
The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.
We are recruiting for 2 part‑time Catering Assistants to join the team at our hospice in Newcastle.
Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, aligned with AFC Band 2 £24,465 pro rata per annum + enhancements.

The Marie Curie Newcastle Hospice provides high quality care in a comfortable environment for patients with a life limiting illness and their loved ones. Our Garden Café is open from 8.30am to 6pm every day and sells a variety of refreshments, light snacks and meals for our patients, visitors, staff and volunteers.
Reporting to the Head Chef, you will assist in the daily provision of all catering services at the Hospice, working to ensure that we maintain our level 5 food hygiene rating, and our commitment to providing a consistently high‑quality food service.
You will be a vital member of the catering team, contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen and you must be able to undertake general kitchen duties and food preparation and cook simple meals under direction of the Head Chef. You will need to be flexible, well presented and highly organised.
