Job summary

Bestway Wholesale Limited is seeking a Category Manager to drive Category Plans for Bestway Foodservice and Caterers. You will manage ranging, pricing, strategy, supplier relations, promotional planning and income for marketing support.

You will mentor Category Assistants and oversee category activities, building strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams to deliver cost-effective, competitive ranges that meet budgeted targets.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in FMCG Wholesale or Foodservice (Buying/Sales or Category Management).
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Ability to analyse performance and market data.
• Excellent relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver budgeted sales, margin and cash profit for Category.
• Maximise product availability across categories.
• Develop Joint Business Plans with suppliers.
• Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Create and implement Category strategy and plans.
• Negotiate income from suppliers for media promos.
• Ranging and pricing aligned with policy and strategy.
• Plan seasonal promotions and corporate initiatives across the supply base.
• Range management and development with suppliers.
• Define Own Brand strategy balancing branded vs own brand.
• Ensure admin tasks for the Category are completed on time.
• Analyse promotional effectiveness and forecasts.
