Job description

Role Main Assignments

1. Supervise the work of all retail staff, ensuring the allocation of tasks and daily monitoring of retail outlets.
2. Conduct checks for compliance with HACCP Regulations, including temperature probing and record keeping, and take appropriate actions if standards are not met.
3. Report maintenance defects and ensure all catering equipment is clean and well maintained.

Team Management and Communication

1. Build and maintain effective relationships with the retail team and ward staff, including introducing new staff and casual staff to the department.
2. Liaise with MFT and Sodexo staff to resolve issues and respond to ad-hoc requirements.
3. Ensure staff are properly allocated duties, responsibilities, and training, including moving and handling training.
4. Ensure all retail staff wear full PPE, uniforms, and trust ID badges.

Administrative Responsibilities

1. Manage sickness absence calls, conduct return-to-work interviews, and escalate issues as needed.
2. Ensure all relevant paperwork is submitted to HR, including holiday requests and staff surveys.
3. Oversee annual leave requests and conduct monthly appraisals in line with policies.

Health & Safety and Compliance

1. Carry out catering duties in accordance with health and safety legislation.
2. Follow accident reporting procedures and ensure compliance with policies, escalating non-compliance issues.
3. Manage incidents or complaints appropriately.

Additional Duties

1. Provide cover for colleagues as required and monitor breaks and stock levels.
2. Resolve issues during shifts and maintain a professional image of the retail department.
3. Perform full range of retail service assistant duties when needed.

General Responsibilities

1. Maintain high personal hygiene standards and arrive punctually in uniform with ID badge.
2. Guide and advise new team members and relief staff.
3. Complete relevant paperwork and prioritize tasks based on daily requirements.
4. Assist in other catering areas as needed and undertake additional duties as directed.
