Job summary

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is seeking a Casual Front of House Assistant for its museum sites in Hatfield. You will support front of house operations, assist with school workshops, and help deliver a welcoming experience to visitors at Mill Green Museum & Watermill and the Welwyn Roman Baths.

The role requires strong English communication, comfort with technology and POS systems, and a keen interest in local history. Shifts are Tue–Sun as needed, with DBS checks and safeguarding in place.

Qualifications

• Experience working directly with the public.
• Fluent English spoken and written.
• Comfortable using technology and devices.
• Experience using a point-of-sale system.

Responsibilities

• Assist front of house operations at Mill Green Museum & Watermill and Welwyn Roman Baths.
• Support the learning programme with school workshops and craft activities.
• Handle ticketing and customer inquiries at the front desk.
• Work with staff and volunteers to ensure a welcoming visitor experience.
