Job summary

Great Yarmouth Borough Council is seeking caring, self-motivated people to join the Bereavement Services team at The Crematorium, Magdalen Lawn Cemetery in Gorleston. These casual posts cover holiday and sickness for permanent staff, with availability to cover at very short notice.

Duties include pall bearing, chapel preparation for mourners, handling floral tributes, operating a computerised music system, and ensuring all areas are kept to a high standard of cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in this service industry preferred.
• Valid manual handling certificate required.
• Ability to work in a team and show initiative.
• Experience dealing with the public and sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Pall bearing and assisting mourners.
• Prepare the chapel for each group of mourners.
• Display and dispose of floral tributes in designated areas.
• Operate a computerised music system as required.
• Maintain cleanliness across all areas of the complex.
