Job summary

CMG is seeking a Casual Groundsperson at Heart Of England Crematorium, Nuneaton. You will maintain crematorium grounds and memorial areas to high standards, working as part of a small team on a casual 0-hours contract, with a rate of £13.12 per hour.

Role involves mowing, planting, hedge cutting, safety checks and assisting families with memorial enquiries. Benefits include up to 22 days leave pro-rata, pension, discounts, eyecare, counselling, training and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Experience in groundskeeping, horticulture, or outdoor maintenance.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
• Works well in a team and communicates effectively.
• Understands sensitivity of working in a memorial setting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out seasonal gardening and landscaping: mowing, weeding, pruning, planting and hedge cutting.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of paths, lawns, memorial plots and landscaped areas.
• Conduct routine checks and light maintenance of grounds equipment.
• Support with leaf clearance, snow and ice control, and seasonal displays.
• Maintain memorial areas with care and attention to detail.
• Assist families with basic memorial enquiries when required.
• Work with the site team and assist other duties as needed.
• Follow health and safety policies for a safe working environment.
