Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking reliable, compassionate individuals to support bereaved families at Northern Cemetery. You will work as part of a respectful on-site team, handling a varied range of duties with dignity and care, and you may need to adapt to changing priorities.

The casual, ad-hoc role offers flexible hours, training, and a community-focused environment, with opportunities to contribute ideas to improve services while upholding health and safety and equality principles.

Qualifications

• Ability to organise and prioritise workload, work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when undertaking a varied range of duties.
• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, landscaping, cemetery or bereavement services is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
• Good practical skills, attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures and instructions, with an understanding of safe working practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, funeral directors, contractors and members of the public.
• Willingness to develop knowledge and skills across all aspects of cemetery operations.
