Job summary

Maidstone Borough Council is recruiting for a Bereavement Services Officer at Vinters Park Crematorium & Maidstone Cemetery. This part-time role (30 hours per week) focuses on cremation administration, bookings, payments and paperwork, with duties on-site during crematorium hours from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

We deliver cremations and burials with memorials, and seek a compassionate, detail‑oriented team player who can engage sensitively with the public and funeral professionals.

Qualifications

• Empathetic attitude and ability to converse with the public, clergy and funeral directors.
• Methodical with a high standard of accuracy and flexibility.
• Able to work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Administer cremation bookings, confirm payments and process cremation paperwork.
• Communicate with funeral directors and members of the public.
• Provide front-of-house support in a warm, compassionate manner.
