Job summary

APP Wholesale Ltd is seeking a proactive Credit Controller to join our Finance team in Erith. You will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, chase payments and support cash flow through effective credit management.

Key responsibilities include maintaining the customer ledger, resolving disputes, and providing accurate collections forecasts. Collaboration with Branches, Sales and Finance is essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience handling complex reconciliations and disputes.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel and financial systems.
• Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and manage high-volume ledger.
• Comfortable negotiating payment commitments and handling challenging conversations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the customer ledger with accurate recording of transactions.
• Chase outstanding payments and reduce aged debt through proactive follow-up.
• Build positive relationships with customers to support collections.
• Collaborate with Branches, Sales teams and internal stakeholders to resolve disputes and secure payments.
• Monitor credit limits and flag risks to Credit Control Manager.
• Conduct credit checks using reference agencies and escalate concerns.
• Provide accurate collections forecasts to support cash-flow planning.
• Handle complex account reconciliations and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Assist with aged debt reviews, bad debt reporting and month-end tasks.
• Escalate overdue accounts and recommend appropriate actions.
