Job summary

British Red Cross in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is looking for a Casework Coordinator to support refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants across the UK. This hybrid role includes advocacy on welfare, housing and asylum support, and coordinating destitution and practical assistance to service users.

You will lead and support volunteers, build partnerships with external agencies, and help shape services to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering casework to vulnerable clients, ideally within refugee or asylum contexts.
  • Strong communication skills, including working with interpreters and diverse communities.
  • The ability to manage volunteers and work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of asylum seekers’ rights and entitlements, and how to advocate effectively.

Casework Coordinator

Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland (Hybrid)

Salary: £25,269 to £27,498 per annum, pro rata

Hours: 35 per week

Contract: Fixed term contract (until 31st March 2028, with the possibility of extension subject to funding)

What will a day in the life of a Casework Coordinator involve?
  • Providing advocacy on welfare, housing, health and asylum support.
  • Coordinating destitution and practical support services.
  • Supporting and managing volunteers to contribute to the delivery of high-quality casework services, as this area of work develops.
  • Building relationships with external partners to ensure holistic support for service users.
