Job summary

Metropolitan Thames Valley is hiring a Carpenter Multi-Skilled to cover the Home Counties. The role is full-time, permanent, with a salary of £38,803–£40,845 per year. You will work 40 hours weekly, with second shift and out-of-hours on-call rotations, and a company van with fuel card provided.

Applicants should have social housing/local authority experience and an NVQ2 or equivalent, plus a full UK driving licence. Closing date: 13 November 2026.

• Full UK manual driving licence and vehicle provided may be required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multi-skilled carpentry tasks in a social housing setting.
• Support residents with carpentry works and repairs.
• Contribute to first/second shift and on-call rotations as required.

Working hours/pattern: 40 hours per week between 8am – 6pm. To support our residents, you will be required to participate in second shift and an out of hours on-call service on a rotational basis. Company van and fuel card provided.

Requirements

Experience

• Previously worked in a social housing or local authority environment
• Relevant NVQ2 qualification or equivalent trade experience

Driving

• A full UK manual driving licence (you will provided with your own Metworks van for working hours).
• A minimum of one year of significant driving experience. (MTVH reserves the right to withdraw an offer of employment if company fleet policy is unable to secure adequate insurance.)
