Job summary

Fortus Recruitment Group Limited is seeking a Multi Trade Carpenter to join a well-established social housing contractor in Bedfordshire on a permanent basis. The role involves carrying out a range of planned and reactive maintenance works across occupied properties with a focus on quality workmanship and customer service.

You will work across various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, decorating, and basic brickwork, and must have a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Multi Trade Operative within social housing, property maintenance, or a similar environment.
• Competent across carpentry, plumbing, decorating, and basic brickwork.
• Experience working in occupied properties.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Positive and professional approach to customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry repairs both 1st and 2nd fix
• Carry out basic plumbing repairs
• Undertake painting and decorating works.
• Patch plastering
• Basic tiling
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Communicate professionally with tenants and colleagues while providing excellent customer service.
• Complete relevant job documentation accurately.
