Think Recruitment are recruiting a Carpenter Multi-Trade Operative for responsive repairs in Basingstoke and surrounding areas. The role covers social housing properties, with duties spanning carpentry, basic plumbing and patch plastering. A van and fuel card are provided; the position is temporary to permanent.

The ideal candidate will have strong carpentry skills, experience in occupied properties, and a full UK driving licence. NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2 in Carpentry is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs across social housing properties.
• Complete carpentry repairs to doors, frames, locks, handles, skirting boards and other timber fixtures.
• Undertake repairs to kitchen units, worktops and flooring.
• Carry out basic plumbing repairs (taps, toilets, leaks, waste pipes).
• Patch plastering and minor making-good work.
• Diagnose faults and ensure high-standard repairs.
• Communicate professionally with tenants and keep areas clean and safe.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

Carpenter Multi-Trade Operative - Responsive Repairs

Location: Basingstoke and surrounding areas

Salary: £21-£23 per hour (CIS or Umbrella)

Think Recruitment are working with a leading Contractor covering Basingstoke and the surrounding areas. We are looking for an experienced Carpenter Multi-Trade Operative to complete responsive repairs in occupied social housing properties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out responsive repairs across social housing properties.
• Complete carpentry repairs to doors, frames, locks, handles, skirting boards and other timber fixtures.
• Undertake repairs to kitchen units, worktops and flooring.
• Carry out basic plumbing repairs, including taps, toilets, leaks and waste pipes.
• Complete patch plastering and minor making-good work.
• Diagnose faults and ensure repairs are completed to a high standard.
• Communicate professionally with tenants and keep work areas clean and safe.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

Requirements:

• Previous experience completing responsive repairs as a carpenter multi-trade operative.
• Experience working in social housing or occupied properties.
• Strong carpentry skills alongside competence in basic plumbing and patch plastering.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily workload.
• NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 in Carpentry or Joinery is Desirable.
• Full UK driving license is essential.
