Job summary

Cambridge Housing Society is seeking a Carpenter Multi Skilled Trade to perform carpentry and basic plumbing repairs across social housing properties in the South Cambridgeshire area. The role covers Cambridge Central, Royston, Duxford and Haverhill, with a company van, fuel card and tools provided.

Essential criteria include NVQ/City & Guilds in Carpentry or equivalent, full UK driving licence and the ability to pass a DBS check.

Qualifications

• NVQ/City & Guilds in Carpentry or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence (max 5 points) and no recent bans.
• Must pass basic DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out full carpentry and basic plumbing repairs in social housing properties.
• Advise supervisor if other trades are required.
• Work with colleagues to complete projects on time.

Due to continued successful growth, We have a new permanent opportunity to join our Fortem Repairs and Maintenance team at Cambridge Housing Society as a Carpenter Multi Skilled Trade which uses core Carpentry skills, basic plumbing and a range of other Multi trade skills which can include, Tiling, Flooring, Windows.The Carpenter Multi Trade will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties covering a patch across South Cambridgeshire which include Cambridge Central, Royston, Duxford and Haverhill and surrounding areas so travel is essential.Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm - Work Van, Fuel card Tools provided!+ Generous ON CALL rota

Cambridge Housing Society is one of our long term partnerships. We are responsible for all repairs and maintenance of their social housing properties which cover the Cambridgeshire region Head office is based in Central Cambridge and the patch includes surrounding areas from Wisbech, Royston and Haverhill.There are nearly 3,000 properties, mostly houses and flats, and we look after a range of work including Repairs, Voids, Cyclical Works and Planned workstreamsWe are currently rated as 4.5 on Glassdoor and 93% of staff would recommend to a friend!

Duties and Responsibilities

Completing Full Carpentry and basic Plumbing repairs work for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.

• Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
• Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices.
• Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants
• Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
• Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures
• Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.

What you will need
