Job summary

Bromford Flagship Livewest is seeking skilled Carpenters to maintain and improve homes for tenants. The role covers a wide range of carpentry tasks across occupied and void properties, with a company vehicle and tools provided for daily duties and a permanent contract.

We expect a full trade apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 plus proven maintenance experience. You’ll work 40 hours weekly, with on-call duties and on-site responsibilities ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties.
• Install and repair doors, windows, flooring, tiling and fixtures.
• Undertake basic painting and decorating tasks.
• Complete damp and mould treatment, void clearances and flood repairs.
• Use schedules of rates to assess jobs, produce estimates and complete work efficiently.
• Ensure all work is safe and of high standard, right first time.
• Identify and arrange asbestos removal when required.
• Utilise company vehicle and tools for daily tasks.
• Deliver excellent customer service and support tenants.
• Respond to safeguarding or emergency situations when needed.

We’re looking for a number of skilled and customer-focused Carpenters to join our Repairs & Voids team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining and improving our homes, ensuring our tenants receive an outstanding repairs service and can truly thrive where they live.

Working across our housing portfolio, you’ll carry out a wide range of carpentry and property maintenance tasks, supporting colleagues across different trades when needed.

Working hours: 40hpw, Monday - Friday, 08:00-17:00 Friday 08:00-14:30

Contract: Permanent + Company Van

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out carpentry repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties

• Installing and repairing doors, windows, flooring, tiling, and associated fixtures

• Undertaking basic painting and decorating tasks

• Completing damp and mould treatment, void clearances, and flood repairs

• Using schedules of rates to assess jobs, produce estimates, and complete work efficiently

• Ensuring all work is completed safely, to high standards, and ‘right first time’

• Identifying and arranging asbestos removal where required

• Using a company vehicle and tools to complete daily tasks

• Delivering excellent customer service and supporting tenants with their needs

• Responding to and escalating safeguarding or emergency situations where appropriate

What You'll Bring

• A Full Trade Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 2, or equivalent experience in carpentry

• Proven experience in repairs and maintenance within a similar environment

• Strong practical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively

• Good knowledge of materials, tools, and estimating job requirements

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Problem-solving and decision-making ability

• Basic IT skills (e.g. Outlook, Teams, and digital work scheduling systems)

• A full UK driving licence

• Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota, including public holidays
