Job summary

Flagship Services is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our responsive repairs team. You’ll maintain and improve homes, ensuring tenants receive excellent service while thriving in their living spaces.

You'll work across our housing portfolio, carrying out carpentry and property maintenance, and supporting colleagues across trades as needed. 40 hpw, Mon-Fri, with a permanent contract and company van.

Qualifications

  • Full Trade Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 in carpentry or equivalent.
  • Proven repairs and maintenance experience in housing or similar environment.
  • Strong practical carpentry skills and issue diagnosis.
  • Good knowledge of materials, tools and estimating job requirements.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Problem solving and decision making ability.
  • Basic IT skills (Outlook, Teams, scheduling systems).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness for out-of-hours on-call rota (including public holidays).

Responsibilities

  • Carry out carpentry repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties.
  • Install and repair doors, windows, flooring, tiling, and related fixtures.
  • Perform basic painting and decorating tasks.
  • Handle damp/mould treatment, void clearances and flood repairs.
  • Use schedules of rates to assess jobs, provide estimates, and complete work efficiently.
  • Ensure work is safe, high quality, and right first time.
  • Identify and arrange asbestos removal when required.
  • Use company vehicle and tools to complete daily tasks.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and support tenant needs.
  • Respond to safeguarding or emergency situations as needed.

We’re looking for a skilled and customer-focused Carpenter to join our responsive repairs team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining and improving our homes, ensuring our tenants receive an outstanding repairs service and can truly thrive where they live.

Working across our housing portfolio, you’ll carry out a wide range of carpentry and property maintenance tasks, supporting colleagues across different trades when needed.

Working hours: 40hpw, Monday - Friday, 08:00-17:00 Friday 08:00-14:30

Contract: Permanent + Company Van

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Carrying out carpentry repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties

  • Installing and repairing doors, windows, flooring, tiling, and associated fixtures

  • Undertaking basic painting and decorating tasks

  • Completing damp and mould treatment, void clearances, and flood repairs

  • Using schedules of rates to assess jobs, produce estimates, and complete work efficiently

  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, to high standards, and ‘right first time’

  • Identifying and arranging asbestos removal where required

  • Using a company vehicle and tools to complete daily tasks

  • Delivering excellent customer service and supporting tenants with their needs

  • Responding to and escalating safeguarding or emergency situations where appropriate

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • A Full Trade Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 2, or equivalent experience in carpentry

  • Proven experience in repairs and maintenance within a similar environment

  • Strong practical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively

  • Good knowledge of materials, tools, and estimating job requirements

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Problem-solving and decision-making ability

  • Basic IT skills (e.g. Outlook, Teams, and digital work scheduling systems)

  • A full UK driving licence

  • Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota, including public holidays
