Job summary

Skilled Careers in Harrow is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our maintenance team, delivering high-quality repairs across social housing properties. You will work in occupied and void homes, carrying out a wide range of carpentry tasks with a strong focus on workmanship and customer service.

You should be skilled in first and second fix carpentry, be able to work independently, and hold a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in social housing maintenance or repairs.
• Strong knowledge of first and second fix carpentry.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive and planned carpentry repairs within social housing properties.
• Install and repair internal and external doors, frames, architraves.
• Fit skirting boards, kitchens, worktops, flooring and timber structures.
• Carry out locks, ironmongery, and door furniture tasks.
• Ensure work is completed safely and to high standard.
• Maintain records of completed work using handheld devices or paperwork.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate with tenants and colleagues.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Carpenter to join our maintenance team, delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services across social housing properties.

Working in occupied and void homes, you'll carry out a wide range of carpentry repairs and installations while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out responsive and planned carpentry repairs within social housing properties.

• Internal and external doors
• Door frames and architraves
• Skirting boards
• Kitchens and worktops
• Flooring and timber structures
• Locks, ironmongery, and door furniture
• Windows and timber repairs
• Complete first and second fix carpentry work
• Undertake minor multi-trade tasks where required, including basic plumbing, tiling, decorating, or patch plastering
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
• Maintain accurate records of completed work using handheld devices or paperwork
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with tenants and colleagues
• Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and well maintained

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience working as a Carpenter, ideally within social housing, property maintenance, or responsive repairs
• Strong knowledge of first and second fix carpentry
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
