Job summary

Serco Group Plc is seeking a Carpenter to maintain facilities that support sport, wellbeing and community activity at More Leisure Community Trust. You will perform reactive repairs, planned maintenance and carpentry work to keep buildings safe and welcoming.

Job description

As a Carpenter, you'll help maintain the facilities that support sport, wellbeing and community activity. Your work will have a direct impact on the experience of visitors, athletes and colleagues, ensuring buildings remain safe, functional and welcoming. From planned maintenance to reactive repairs, your expertise will help create a positive impact on communities while supporting a trusted environment where people can thrive. What you'll do as a Carpenter

• Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, maintenance and improvement works across the site's building fabric and associated facilities.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance activities to help keep facilities safe, compliant and operational.
• Undertake carpentry works using a range of specialist tools and equipment, including electrical saws and woodworking machinery.
• Perform fire door inspections, repairs and maintenance, including fire stopping activities.
• Support health and safety initiatives, safe systems of work and continuous improvement activities across the site.
• Communicate maintenance issues, defects and parts requirements promptly to supervisors and managers.

• Hold relevant City and Guilds, BTEC or equivalent carpentry qualifications.
• Have experience working in a maintenance, facilities, construction or similar environment.
• Possess a good understanding of building services and maintenance practices.
• Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork and customer service skills.

Contract & Working Hours

Permanent, Full Time (32 hours p/w) - Monday to Thursday, with participation in an on-call rota. Shift work may be required and overtime may be available.
