Job summary

Serco Leisure is recruiting a Maintenance Technician at Ferry Leisure Centre in Oxford to support community facilities. The role involves reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and keeping buildings safe and welcoming.

The position offers 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, with benefits including gym membership for you and your family, DBS checks, holiday entitlement, pension, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance or building services environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance across plant and equipment.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
• Work in line with health and safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate faults, defects and spare parts requirements to supervisors.
• Contribute to improving working practices and safety systems.
• Support operational needs, including on-call rota and training attendance.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital part in supporting communities by maintaining the critical infrastructure that teams rely on every day. Whether responding to urgent faults or carrying out planned maintenance, your work will help ensure the continuity of care and create a safe, welcoming environment for visitors, colleagues, and everyone we serve.

What You’ll Do As a Maintenance Technician

• Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance across a wide range of plant and equipment
• Complete planned preventive maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably
• Work in line with all health and safety policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding faults, defects, and spare parts requirements
• Take a proactive approach to improving working practices and safety systems
• Support operational needs, including participating in the on-call rota and attending training as required
