Job summary

More Leisure Community Trust is seeking a skilled Carpenter to help maintain its sports and leisure facilities. You will perform reactive repairs, planned maintenance and carpentry works to keep buildings safe, functional and welcoming for visitors.

You’ll join a customer‑focused team on a Monday–Thursday pattern, with on‑call rota and potential overtime. Salary £22,000–£23,000 per year and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised carpentry apprenticeship or relevant structured training programme.
• Hold City and Guilds, BTEC or equivalent carpentry qualifications.
• Have experience working in a maintenance, facilities, construction or similar environment.
• Possess a good understanding of building services and maintenance practices.
• Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, maintenance and improvement works across the site's building fabric and associated facilities.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance activities to help keep facilities safe, compliant and operational.
• Undertake carpentry works using a range of specialist tools and equipment, including electrical saws and woodworking machinery.
• Perform fire door inspections, repairs and maintenance, including fire stopping activities.
• Support health and safety initiatives, safe systems of work and continuous improvement activities across the site.
• Communicate maintenance issues, defects and parts requirements promptly to supervisors and managers.
