Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd is seeking a skilled Carpenter to deliver responsive repairs and maintenance across occupied residential properties in Buckinghamshire and surrounding counties. You will perform a wide range of carpentry tasks with a focus on quality and right-first-time service, using PDA/mobile systems.

The role requires social housing experience, the ability to work independently, and a full UK driving licence. A permanent opportunity is available with a reputable housing provider.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery, City & Guilds or equivalent.
• Experience in social housing or domestic maintenance and responsive repairs.
• Experience with first and second fix carpentry.
• Full UK manual driving licence and ability to use PDA/mobile systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry repairs and maintenance on occupied properties.
• Repair doors, frames, skirting, architraves and locks.
• Complete kitchen, cupboard and flooring works.
• Carry out fencing and gate repairs.
• Undertake first and second fix carpentry tasks.
• Diagnose issues and provide effective solutions.
• Update work orders and manage materials using PDA/mobile tech.
• Maintain high level of resident service and safety.

Job Type: Temp - Permanent

Location: Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and surrounding counties

Temp Rate: £24.40 per hour

Salary: £41,327 per annum + Excellent Benefits

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

A Carpenter is required to join a reputable housing provider, carrying out responsive repairs and maintenance works across occupied residential properties. The role will involve a wide range of carpentry repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring residents receive a high-quality, right-first-time service.

The successful candidate will have experience within social housing, domestic maintenance or responsive repairs and be capable of working independently whilst maintaining excellent customer service standards.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Carrying out carpentry repairs and maintenance on occupied residential properties
• Repairing and replacing doors, frames, skirting, architraves and locks
• Completing kitchen repairs, cupboard repairs and flooring works
• Carrying out fencing and gate repairs
• Undertaking first and second fix carpentry works
• Diagnosing repair issues and delivering effective solutions
• Updating work orders and material usage through PDA/mobile technology
• Managing van stock and ordering materials as required
• Providing a high level of customer service to residents
• Ensuring all works are completed safely and efficiently

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification
• Previous experience within social housing, domestic maintenance or responsive repairs
• Experience carrying out first and second fix carpentry
• Full UK manual driving licence
• Experience using PDA/mobile working systems
• Strong customer service and communication skills
