Job summary

18 Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Carpenter/Joiner to join a busy repairs and maintenance team within social housing properties in Leeds. The role involves delivering high-quality workmanship across occupied and void properties, carrying out both first-fix and second-fix carpentry, and working to set timescales while maintaining excellent customer service.

You will have proven carpentry experience in repairs, own basic tools, a valid UK driving licence, and a DBS check.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Carpenter / Joiner within repairs and maintenance
• Experience in social housing repairs is desirable
• Must possess own basic trade tools
• Full clean UK driving licence and DBS check
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs and planned maintenance works within social housing properties
• Hang, ease, and adjust internal and external doors
• Repair and replace locks, hinges, handles, and other ironmongery
• Install and repair kitchens, worktops, cabinets, and units
• Fit skirting boards, architraves, door frames, and other finishing carpentry
• Undertake flooring repairs and installations, including laminate and timber flooring
• Repair and replace fencing, gates, and external timber structures
• Carry out UPVC door and window repairs where required
• Complete minor multi-trade works and make‑good repairs following maintenance activities
• Ensure work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
• Deliver excellent customer service when working in tenants' homes
• Accurately complete job records and documentation
