Job summary

Bournemouth Airport is seeking a commercially focused Cargo Development Manager to drive growth of its cargo operations from our coastal base. You will develop and secure new business, deepen existing relationships and shape the airport's long-term cargo strategy.

You will combine business development, account management and commercial negotiation with hands-on market analysis, industry events and close collaboration with operations to ensure delivery against commitments.

Qualifications

• You have experience in air cargo sales or aviation business development and an industry network across airlines, brokers and logistics providers.
• Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills and understanding of cargo operations and handling environments.
• Organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple opportunities with delivery focus.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities with airlines, brokers, freight forwarders and shippers.
• Maintain and grow existing customer relationships to maximise revenue.
• Prepare and deliver clear, commercially sound proposals.
• Lead negotiations through to agreed commercial contracts.
• Represent the airport at industry events and meetings (UK and internationally).
• Work with operational teams to ensure delivery aligns with commercial commitments.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and revenue streams.
• Support marketing activity through the development of relevant B2B content.
• Contribute to the cargo growth strategy and monitor performance with reporting.
• Undertake market and competitor analysis to inform business development activity.
