Job summary

Port of Dover is seeking a proactive, customer-focused Business Development Manager to join our growing Commercial team. This hands-on role supports the development of cargo business, builds strong customer relationships, and drives new opportunities across the sector.

You will manage accounts, prepare proposals, handle pricing and support the delivery of the port's wider commercial strategy, making a meaningful impact on our cargo operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in account management or business development within a commercial environment.
• Experience in logistics, supply chain or ports (desirable).
• Strong customer relationship management skills across multiple accounts.
• Understanding of supply chain operations and basic financial principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily interactions with cargo customers and ensure high levels of service.
• Support customer onboarding and align requirements across internal teams.
• Maintain regular customer engagement to identify service improvements and upsell opportunities.
• Prepare and maintain account management plans for major clients in logistics and infrastructure sectors.
• Lead on pricing and contract negotiations and contribute to pricing strategies.
